My wife and I represented all of the Inter Club members from across the world. I looked upon it as a mission. We travelled in style. That’s when I realised what was going on around me. I couldn’t believe how comfortable that high-speed train was. I was so excited that my hands were shaking. That had never happened to me before. I was gobsmacked when we walked into the hotel. I thought it was all a prank, like winning the prize itself. It wasn’t a hotel room – it was a suite! You could see the Madonnina – it was wonderful. There are no words to describe it for normal folk like us. Welcome along to celebrate Inter’s 110th birthday. Crazy. Zanetti. What a hero. The skipper. Did he write it? I’ll put it under my pillow at night. Seriously? He wrote it? I can’t believe it! Cheers to Inter! When we arrived at the dinner, there was an incredible hall full of celebrities. I never would have imagined that one day I’d go from my small town to walking through that hall in Milan full of celebrities. I don’t know how to describe it – my legs are shaking! I managed to get hold of Ronaldo for a photo and that is something I’ll remember. I really liked Javier Zanetti but that was never in doubt because he’s a very sociable guy and he gets it. I asked him if he’d mind sending a quick video message to my son and he did so immediately. That’s what really hit me about the gala dinner. The most emotional moment of the evening was Zanetti’s speech, when he spoke about his family, the sacrifices he’s made and where he comes from. It was lovely and it brought a tear to my eye. I didn’t feel like a fan, I felt like a part of the family. Arriving at San Siro for Inter v Napoli was fantastic. We parked up in the stadium’s main carpark. We went inside the dressing room, where I got to hold Icardi’s captain’s armband. Wow, this is amazing. When you walk out, you’re struck by the smell of the grass, the imposing stands and the size of the ground. It’s “La Scala del Calcio”. Cheers to Inter! We were lucky enough to meet and have a chat with some former players like Maicon, who’s a lovely man. He’s friendly and very approachable. I’m surrounded by all of these trophies, including the treble. I walked down the hall and saw Zanetti on his own in here. He’s a wonderful man. That’s all I can say. I’m pleased to have won the competition, above all for my husband because he’s supported Inter all his life. I’m happy for him. One of the things that will stay with me from this wonderful three-day experience is the fact that my wife won it for me. It’s a dream come true. Thank you.
